Web Developer (contract position)

TrailBlaze Creative, (TBC) an independent marketing and communications firm, seeks a talented individual to assist in developing new and unique marketing journeys for our clients. In the last year, we’ve tackled some major problems for our clients including bridging the digital divide in Pittsburgh, driving economic recovery efforts in communities across North America, attracting underserved populations to new workforce opportunities, assisted small businesses pivot from brick and mortar to online sales, and much, much more. We are seeking a talented website designer and developer for a number of projects. You MUST be a wiz with CSS, Javascript, HTML, and PHP. Experience with DIVI, Elementor, and hardcoding websites is a MUST. We work predominately in WordPress and provide mockup designs that you would be expected to translate to webpages.

We need a developer who is interested in a long-term relationship with our agency, with approximately 15-20 hours of work per week. Our team is looking for a developer who communicates clearly, meets deadlines, is organized, and can develop beautiful, user-friendly websites.

This position will primarily telecommute (especially in the current environment) so it is important that candidates have access to a laptop, as well as internet access, phone access, and basic Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office computer programs. Some in-person meetings may occur throughout the Pittsburgh region. Our preference is to work with a candidate that is able to travel to these meetings in person. It is important that candidates have access to internet access and phone access. Since regular meetings with TrailBlaze leadership and clients is also expected, so access to periodic transportation may be required.

LEAD GRAPHIC DESIGNER (FULL TIME)

We are seeking a Lead Graphic Designer that can lead us into the future. In addition to strong graphic design skills across the Adobe Suite, this person will need a keen eye for the theory behind design. That means this position won’t strictly be designing but will help to influence design and strategy by offering guidance across all of our work. This position won’t just take direction from our team and clients but will also be expected to offer strategic guidance on execution. If a headline isn’t on point, if there is a gap in the execution strategy, we expect this position to help us deliver. And, while graphic design will, by far, be the heaviest responsibility, we love team members who are flexible. Our ideal candidate will be trained and have experience and excel in graphic design but may be interested in expanding their wings a bit and providing some strategic consulting support for our clients from time to time. As we build our team, this position could have direct report responsibilities over time (both internal and external).

 Graphic design expectations will span all types of media and channels. Branding, brochures, web design, event collateral are all deliverables that this position will manage. We do some fun and important work for mission-based clients that are working to impact their communities.

This position is full-time and will primarily telecommute (especially in the current environment) so it is important that candidates have access to internet access and phone access. Most of our work is concentrated in Pittsburgh, PA and we also have a presence in Detroit, MI. While we would prefer a candidate where our work is concentrated, we are open to all candidates. Some travel/transportation may also be required, but it is not a core element of this position.
